By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using Bloks, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- Notify us immediately at contact@trybloks.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
- You may not share your account or transfer it to anyone else without our consent.
4. The Service
Bloks is a focus and productivity application. It lets you run timed focus sessions ("Bloks"), track streaks, ranks, XP, and missions, and receive optional accountability check-ins by push notification and WhatsApp.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Some features may be offered on a free basis and others only on a paid plan.
5. Accountability Messaging (Push & WhatsApp)
- Accountability messages are optional and opt-in. You choose whether to enable them and set the intensity level.
- By providing your phone number and enabling WhatsApp messaging, you consent to receive automated messages from Bloks at that number. Message frequency depends on your settings.
- Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. You are responsible for those charges.
- You can opt out at any time by adjusting your settings or replying STOP to a WhatsApp message (or HELP for help).
- Our drill-sergeant tone is a motivational device you control via the intensity setting. It is not professional, medical, psychological, or coaching advice. See Section 9.
- WhatsApp messages are delivered through Meta Platforms' WhatsApp Business Platform and are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms.
6. Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds
6.1 MERCHANT OF RECORD
Our payments and subscriptions are handled by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record (the authorized reseller) for purchases made through the Service. When you buy a plan, your purchase is transacted with Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms and Paddle's Privacy Policy also apply to that transaction. Paddle handles billing, payment processing, and applicable sales tax/VAT.
6.2 PLANS AND FEES
Paid plan prices and features are shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually).
6.3 AUTO-RENEWAL
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorize Paddle to charge your payment method for each renewal.
6.3A FREE TRIAL
Monthly and Annual plans start with a 14-day free trial. A payment method is required to start it, and each account can use one trial only. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts to the plan you selected and Paddle charges your payment method. You can cancel through Settings › Plan or via Paddle. The Lifetime plan has no trial.
6.4 CANCELLATION
You may cancel at any time through your account settings or via Paddle. Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain access until the end of your current paid period.
6.5 REFUNDS
All purchases are final and non-refundable. When you purchase a subscription, you receive access for the applicable one-month period, and no refunds or credits are given for partial periods or unused time. This does not affect any mandatory statutory rights you may have that cannot be waived — including, where applicable, the right of withdrawal for digital content under Korean consumer-protection law and EU/UK consumer law. Where such a right applies and has not been lawfully waived, refunds are processed through Paddle.
Note on statutory withdrawal rights. A blanket "no refunds" policy cannot override non-waivable consumer rights. Under Korea's Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, and under EU/UK law for buyers in those regions, consumers generally have a short cooling-off/withdrawal window for digital purchases unless they expressly consent to immediate access and acknowledge they lose that right. Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, Paddle's checkout typically captures this consent and handles statutory refunds.
6.6 PRICE CHANGES
We may change prices. We will give reasonable advance notice, and changes apply from your next billing period.
6.7 FREE TRIALS
We do not currently offer free trials. Paid features become available upon purchase.
Korean e-commerce note. As an online seller established in Korea, 코무토 주식회사 may be required to file a Mail-Order Sales Business registration (통신판매업 신고) and display the number, along with the provider details in Section 1, under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. Because Paddle acts as Merchant of Record, the analysis of who is the "seller" for these disclosure duties is confirmed with counsel.
6.8 TAXES
Prices may be shown exclusive or inclusive of tax; applicable taxes are determined and collected by Paddle at checkout.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service (e.g., malware, denial-of-service, scraping at scale);
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except as permitted by law;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission;
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others, or to submit unlawful, infringing, or offensive content;
- Circumvent usage limits, security features, or the payment process;
- Misuse the AI features (e.g., attempting to extract training data, generate prohibited content, or overload the system).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
8. User Content
- Your content. You retain ownership of the content you create in the Service (e.g., your callsign, goals, focus objectives, and messages) ("User Content").
- License to us. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service — including sending relevant context to our AI provider to generate your accountability messages.
- Responsibility. You are responsible for your User Content and confirm you have the rights to submit it.
- We may remove content that violates these Terms or the law.
9. AI-Generated Content
- Accountability and drill-sergeant messages are generated automatically using artificial intelligence (OpenAI).
- AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate despite our efforts. It is provided for motivation and general purposes only.
- Bloks does not provide medical, psychological, mental-health, financial, legal, or professional advice, and AI messages must not be relied on as such. If you are struggling with your mental health, please contact a qualified professional or a local support service.
- You use AI-generated content at your own discretion and risk.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, pixel-art assets, text, graphics, logos, and branding, is owned by Bloks or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
11. Feedback
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use them without any obligation or compensation to you.
12. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third parties, including Supabase (hosting/auth), Paddle (payments/Merchant of Record), OpenAI (AI messages), Meta/WhatsApp (messaging), and analytics providers. Your use of those integrations may be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not control them.
13. Disclaimers
- The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- We do not guarantee any specific outcome — including improved focus, productivity, habits, or results — from using Bloks.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Bloks and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. If you paid nothing in that period, our liability is limited to the minimum the applicable law allows.
Important. Some jurisdictions — including Korea for consumer contracts — do not permit the exclusion or limitation of liability for intentional misconduct (고의) or gross negligence (중과실), or for damage to life or body. In those cases, this limitation does not apply and our liability is what the applicable law requires. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bloks from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.
16. Suspension & Termination
- You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users.
- On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version, revise the "Last Updated" date, and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice (e.g., email or in-app). Your continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
18. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection law that gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence, you agree that the Seoul Central District Court (서울중앙지방법원) will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.
Note. Purchases are transacted through Paddle as Merchant of Record and are also subject to Paddle's own terms; this governing-law clause covers your use of the Service, not Paddle's separate role as seller.
19. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Bloks regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them (e.g., in a merger or acquisition).
- Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
